With only one performance left in Dallas I must admit I have loved my time here. In no particular order:
I sang a show-tune on morning television between a segment about hockey players supporting Memorial Day and the worlds largest portable Smoker.
Got to meet Dominick Argento.
Both threw and caught touchdown passes on the field at Cowboy Stadium.
Sang with some world class folks.
This is a classy operation down here and I hope I’m back sooner rather than later.
Moving on to San Francisco next for some Villains!
Turandot Review
The best and biggest voice on the stage belongs to Christian Van Horn as Timur (also making his Dallas Opera debut), whose rich bass has just the right amount of ring and not a hint of the woofishness that haunts other low voices. There isn’t much acting in this role until we get to the death of Liù. Here, Van Horn produced the most touching moments in the entire production. Many daubed their eyes when the scene expired to its practically inaudible end.
